  • Mobile Notary Fee Policy

    1. All flat-rate appointments include the Indiana-regulated $10 notarial fee per signature.

    2. The State of Indiana regulates the notarial fee but does not regulate additional travel or drive time fees. Travel fees are set by the notary and disclosed clearly before service begins.

    3. When applicable, mileage is billed at the current federal reimbursement rate, which is set by the IRS and subject to change annually.

    4. All fees will be clearly communicated and agreed upon before the notarization appointment begins. Clients will be sent a detailed “estimate” via email or text and must agree to the estimate in order for the notary to accept the assignment.

    How We Invoice You:

    Signature - the maximum allowable fee is $10 for each signature provided by a notary.

    Drive Time - the time the notary uses to drive to the appointment. Our current rate is $0.42/minute = approx. $25/hour.

    Mileage - the wear and tear mobility places on the notary’s vehicle. Current rate set by IRS: $0.67/mile.

    Wait Time - a charge that will be discussed and agreed upon if a notary is delayed at a jail/prison and cannot attend another appointment due to security risk.

  • Please note that Gold Torch notaries only meet in well-lit public places. If most businesses are closed, our notaries will meet clients at hospitals.
